Emanoil Bardasare-Panaiteanu is an Impressionism artist. 12 works are cataloged here, principally at Moldova National Museum Complex.

Born in a generation when Romanian painters put paint on canvas instead of icons, Emanoil Bardasare-Panaiteanu made small, direct portraits in oil. You’ll find his Autoportret la 20 de ani (1872) beside a girl’s quiet Portret de fetiță (1874), both lit by the same flat, northern light. His brush traced faces straight from family albums, women at morning grooming in Toaleta de dimineață (1876), and two later self-portraits that show the same face after twenty more years. Tap into his 1890 Autoportret la 40 ani to watch that light harden over time.
