Louis Benjamin Huber Defeuille was a Parisian portraitist of the 1800s who worked in miniature, painting on slivers of ivory smaller than a postage stamp. He rendered the future First Lady Dolley Madison's curls at that scale, and his 1809 plaque of Benjamin Franklin hangs in the Met's American Wing.
