Cesare Fracassini

Cesare Fracassini is an Academic Art artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Art of Romania.

This Italian painter in the 1800s loved painting Roman myths so much he kept a plaster cast of the Laocoön Group statue on his studio shelf. His prints spill over with marble-white gods and swirling togas, like marble statues got drunk on color. You’ll recognize his style the second you see Scena mitologica, look for the telltale tangle of limbs and that sky-blue toga that always seems to slip off someone’s shoulder.
