Jagdami Devi

Jagdami Devi is a Contemporary Abstract artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Jagdami Devi kept a cramped studio in a Delhi alley where she painted on whatever was handy, old sari scraps, newsprint, even the back of a calendar. She never left the city, yet her tiny Krishna and Radha from 1973 floats in bold reds and greens, as if the gods had slipped into a Delhi monsoon. Hunt it down; it’s tucked inside a quiet Delhi gallery you’d miss if you blinked.
