Emilian 16th Century

b. 1561
Emilian 16th Century is a Renaissance artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Gallery of Art.
This sculptor might have died the year he was born, but his tiny bronze "Adoration of the Shepherds" in the National Gallery still feels alive. Look closely and you’ll spot the shepherds’ toes curling against the icy ground, like they’re trying not to slip. You can almost hear the sheep shift in the manger.
They made something so small feel surprisingly heavy, worth holding in your palm and turning under the light.
