Moule II is a 2005 by Edward Allington, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Edward Allington’s *Moule II* is a 2005 drawing on old ledger paper. Two halves of a mold and a cast form seem to pop off the page thanks to his shading. The artist often uses ledger sheets as drawing paper. The printed columns and numbers on the sheet remind us this is just a flat page, even though the shapes look solid. The drawing *Moule II* by Edward Allington, executed in 2005 on a sheet from a 19th-century ledger dated 1884, overlays the original ruled columns and figures with three-dimensional forms: two standing halves of a mould and a cast spiral at the base. Strong hatching and deep shadows enhance the illusion of solidity, while the underlying ledger’s columns and details contrast with the sculptural illusion. A red stamp marked E.T.A. appears in the lower right corner, and the work was later acquired in 2007 as part of the series *40 Artists - 40 Drawings*.
