About this work

This engraving shows a busy scene with many figures in a grand room. On the left, a woman kneels holding a baby while others gather around her. In the center, a group of people stands near a pillar, some pointing or gesturing. To the right, two muscular men pose dramatically, one holding a scroll. The background has tall buildings and a sky with clouds. Notice the tiny details in the clothing and faces—each person looks different, yet part of the same story. The artist used sharp lines to create depth and movement, even though it’s just black and white. Want to see more? Check out how engraving works to create such precise lines.
