Yeni Cami, Constantinople is a 1929 watercolor by Sir David Muirhead Bone, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This sketch shows a long building with arched windows and a slanted roof. People walk up steps in front of it, some carrying bags or talking. The walls are plain, but the roof looks heavy and uneven. Shadows fall across the steps and walls, making some areas darker. The artist focused on how light hits the building’s rough surfaces. The quick, loose lines suggest they were drawing fast, maybe from life. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see more of this sketch up close.
A watercolour drawing of Yeni Cami in Constantinople by Sir David Muirhead Bone, completed in 1929, was acquired from the Fine Art Society in June 1978 in exchange for Bone's drawing of The Mitre at Hampton Court.

Bone kept a stub of pencil behind each ear and sketched dockside cranes the way other men chew pencils during meetings.
