Untitled is a 1748 by Edme Bouchardon, a Baroque work, depicting Seascap, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This image shows a circular drawing of a seascape, with a large wave crashing against the shore. The wave is depicted in various shades of brown, with lighter shades at the top and darker shades at the bottom. The wave's crest is curved and foamy, with a few strands of seaweed visible in the foreground. In the background, the sky is a light brown color, with a few clouds scattered throughout. The overall effect of the drawing is one of movement and energy, as if the wave is about to crash down on the shore. The drawing is a beautiful example of the Baroque style, with its use of dramatic lighting and bold lines. For more information on this style, check out the Baroque movement.
A preparatory drawing by Edme Bouchardon from 1748 depicts a design for a jeton featuring a field of ripe corn. The sheet likely originated in the collection of P. J. Mariette before entering later holdings. The inscription identifies the medallist as F. J. Marteau, who was active at the Paris mint during the early to mid-18th century. This work belongs to a group of related designs by Bouchardon documented in association with E.101-1959.
