Frontispiece for the Sacred Cosmologia (Title with Astrologers) is a 1630 ink by Jacques Callot, a Renaissance work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This etching shows two robed figures standing under a big, wheel-like object in a wooded scene. One holds a banner with a triangle symbol, the other a scroll. Birds fly overhead, and the background has trees, a river, and distant buildings. The text below reads *"MUNDVM TRADIDIT DISPUTATIONI"* in Latin. The wheel between them looks like an astrolabe, a tool used for studying the stars. This image was made as the front piece for a book about sacred astronomy. Jacques Callot was a baroque printmaker and draftsman from the Duchy of Lorraine.
