View of the Forum of Nerva is a 1550 ink by Hieronymus Cock, a Renaissance work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This image shows crumbling ancient ruins with tall columns and broken arches. People walk among the scattered stones and rubble. The scene looks like a mix of old buildings and nature creeping in, with a few trees and plants growing through the ruins. The title says it’s the *Forum of Nerva*, a place where Romans once gathered. The artist used a sharp, precise style to show every crack and shadow. Want to see more?
