Untitled is a photographic by Marie de Szczyt-Lednicka, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This is a black-and-white photo of a sculpted head and shoulders. The face is smooth with simple lines for eyes and mouth, giving it a calm but slightly serious look. The person wears a loose, high-collared shirt with vertical folds, and the surface looks rough in places, like plaster or clay. The photo itself has a faded, aged feel, with some smudges and a greenish border. The lighting is even, but the texture of the sculpture stands out against the flat background. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see more works like this in person.
The photograph is mounted on a green card and was part of a collection bequeathed by William Kineton Parkes in 1938. Kineton Parkes, known for his writing on sculpture, sent questionnaires to sculptors in the 1920s, and this photograph is one of many responses he received. The image is held among the materials now preserved in the Archive of Art and Design.
