Wildcat Canyon is a 1919 by Ernest Haskell, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This black-and-white sketch shows a winding river cutting through a rugged landscape. Hills rise in the background, while a small cluster of trees and a lone building sit near the water in the lower right. The lines are loose but precise, capturing the twist of the river and the shape of the land. The artist focused on the raw, untamed feel of the canyon, leaving little detail in the sky. The signature in the corner reads "Haskell," matching the name in the facts. Check out Ernest Haskell (American, 1876–1925) to see more of his work.
