The drawing depicts two Chinese men, one standing and one seated, and is part of a volume containing 130 drawings created in Macau, Guangzhou, and nearby areas. It was likely copied from an original work by George Chinnery and is included in an album of 93 drawings by the artist, bequeathed in 1928 by James Orange.
