A Chinese man holding up a parasol is a 19 by George Chinnery, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
A drawing depicts a standing Chinese man viewed in profile, holding an open parasol that rests on his shoulder. The work is part of a volume containing 130 drawings made in Macau, Guangzhou, and surrounding areas. The drawing was bequeathed in 1928 by James Orange as part of an album of 93 drawings by George Chinnery. George Chinnery (1774–1852) was a British artist who worked in India before settling in Macau in 1825, where he produced numerous drawings of local figures.
