A tightrope walker stands frozen in mid-step. The image is painted in thick oil on cardboard. His balance seems real, but the card’s rough edges make it look handmade. This isn’t a photo. The colors are soft, the edges blurry, which hides small mistakes. Oil paint piles up in places, showing the brushwork. See for yourself in person at the Museum of Ethnography.
