About this work

This print shows a pipe, a pouch of tobacco, and a rolled-up cloth bundle on a patterned cloth. The pipe has a curved bowl and a long stem. The pouch is striped in brown and orange, with a small green circle on top. The cloth under them has a mix of shapes and dots, like a woven design. Japanese writing wraps around the top and sides. The artist used bold colors and simple shapes to show everyday objects. The writing suggests this was part of a collection about spring rain. Look up Kubo Shunman to see more of his detailed prints.
