About this work

This painting shows a pond with three people floating on their backs. Their heads peek above the water, and one has long hair fanned out. Bright pink flowers grow on the bank, and trees with green leaves line the shore. The water is a soft blue, and the sky is hidden behind a curtain of vertical lines. The people’s faces are blurred, making it more about the scene than the individuals. The artist used smooth colors and simple shapes to create a calm, dreamy mood.
