Egypt and Nubia, Volume II: Ruins of the Temple of Kardeseh, Nubia is a 1848 by Louis Haghe, a Romanticism work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This sketch shows a half-ruined temple sitting on a rocky shore by the water. Two small figures stand near the crumbling steps, and a sailboat floats far out in the calm sea. The temple has tall columns and a flat roof, but parts of it are missing or broken. The title says this is the Temple of Kardeseh in Nubia, now part of Egypt. The artist drew it in 1848, when travelers often recorded ancient sites like this. Next, look up The Cleveland Museum of Art to see more works like this one.
