This drawing shows two roses on a single stem. One is deep red with tightly packed petals, the other a softer pink with a slightly open center. The leaves are bright green, detailed with visible veins, and the stems curve naturally against a plain background. The roses are labeled as a "Dark China Rose," which hints at their origin. The artist focused on realistic colors and textures, making the flowers look almost alive. Next, check out Mary Lawrance (British, 1781–1845) to see more of her precise botanical work.
