Thalian peili, Kansallisteatterin kattomaalauksen luonnos, yksityiskohta is a 1919 unspecified by Yrjö Ollila, held at Finnish National Gallery.
This sketch shows a woman’s face lit from the side, her eyes half-lit, half in shadow. The brushstrokes are quick and light, leaving rough patches of thick paint. You can see the canvas behind in spots where the paint didn’t cover. It’s part of a big theater ceiling painting, meant to look grand from below. The rough texture helps the final mural catch the light in the room. The artist painted fast, trusting the light to do the work. If you like this loose style, check out Ollila, Yrjö.
