This painting shows four figures kneeling around a central person seated on a chair. The seated figure wears a blue-green robe and a golden halo, holding a book. The others are dressed in red robes, also with halos, and appear to be praying or presenting something. Behind them, simple buildings with sloped roofs and small windows line a flat background. Notice the gold leaf background and the way the figures are arranged in a pyramid shape. The colors are bold—red, blue, and gold—with flat, solid areas and little shading.
