Print Collection is a 17 by The Illustrated London News, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This print shows the crowd at the Royal Marionette Theatre in London. The theatre opened in January 1852 with tiny marionettes performing operas and dances. An actual ticket for three seats is still pasted onto the page. The scene mixes two art styles: Impressionism and Realism. The playbills list shows how popular these puppet shows were back then.
