Tunnel of Rebirth is a 1977 by Wilks, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Above them, a wall holds tiny scenes of people in old-fashioned clothes. To the right, a giant feathered plant blocks part of the stairs, where a small cat sits near a tiny person. The artist packed the scene with tiny details, like the faces peeking from the wall or the cat’s quiet spot. The steps and shadows make the tunnel feel deep and mysterious. A 1977 drawing by Wilks depicts a cluttered interior scene filled with monstrous figures. The work was created as an illustration for Brian Aldiss's book *Pile - Petals from St. Klaed's Computer*, published in 1979 by Holt, Reinhard and Winston.
