帝国議会貴族院之図|Illustration of The Imperial Assembly of the House of Peers (Teikoku gikai kizokuin no zu) is a 1890 ink by Yōshū (Hashimoto) Chikanobu, a Impressionism work, depicting Interior, held at Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This painting shows a packed room with rows of men in suits sitting at desks. Above them, more people stand in a balcony. At the front, a man in a red robe and crown sits on a raised platform. The room has gold decorations, red carpets, and banners with writing. The artist used bright colors and clear lines to show every person and detail. This style was common in Japanese woodblock prints of the time. Look up Yōshū (Hashimoto) Chikanobu to see more of his work.
