About

El Paso was a short-lived but influential Spanish artist group founded in Madrid in 1957 by a circle of painters and critics seeking to revitalize Spanish art after the Civil War. The group promoted abstract expressionism and informalism, organizing exhibitions and publishing a manifesto that united key figures of the Spanish avant-garde until its dissolution in 1960.
