Morgan Lehman Gallery

Morgan Lehman Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in New York City. Established in 2005, the gallery focuses on promoting the work of emerging and mid-career American artists working across a wide spectrum of creative media. In addition to promoting its own roster of artists, the institution collaborates on exhibitions and projects with various creative practitioners across the globe. It has played a notable role in the New York art scene by mounting the first New York solo exhibitions for several artists, including Frohawk Two Feathers, Bret Slater, John Salvest, Paul Wackers, and Andrew Schoultz.

The gallery was founded by Sally Morgan (née Oberbeck) and Jay Lehman, opening its doors in New York City in 2005. Sally Morgan Lehman continues to serve a curatorial role for the gallery, selecting artists who demonstrate a strong attention to craft across diverse mediums such as fibers, polymers, and recycled metals, contributing emphatically to the discourse of contemporary culture. Over its history, the gallery has expanded its operations and physical space, inaugurating an expanded fourth-floor gallery space in West Chelsea in the summer of 2026 to host larger and more ambitious exhibitions.

The gallery's program specializes in emerging and mid-career American artists who work in a wide spectrum of creative media. Its represented artists and exhibited works span a broad array of materials and techniques, including painting, photography, polymer-based works, fibers, recycled metals, and ceramics. The gallery also embraces structured curatorial projects that encourage experimentation within strict parameters, such as the Twenty by Sixteen exhibition, which features more than sixty artists each presenting two uniformly sized works measuring exactly 20 by 16 inches to explore diverse approaches to politics, aesthetics, technology, and personal expression.

The gallery maintains an active inventory of contemporary works across various mediums. Representative pieces include photographic editions by David S. Allee, such as Sound Warehouse and Billboard LED from 2012 and Room from 2013. Recent painting and mixed-media holdings feature works by Beck Lowry, Ruby Palmer, Dahlia Elsayed, Crystal Liu, Miguel Arzabe, James Gold, Sara Genn, Raymond Saá, Edra Soto, Amy Boone-McCreesh, Matthias Merkel Hess, and Emily Kiacz, with dates ranging from 2025 to 2026. Additionally, the gallery has curated a 2024 Spring Art Catalog titled Lemonade. Always., featuring top emerging artists from around the world such as Lisa Alonzo, Fern Apfel, Jerry Birchfield, Sarah Brenneman, and Colleen Kiely.

The gallery is situated in the Chelsea art district of Manhattan. It operates on the fourth floor of a building at 526 W. 26th Street. In the summer of 2026, the gallery inaugurated an expanded fourth-floor gallery space at Suite 410 in West Chelsea to accommodate larger exhibitions, having previously operated out of Suite 419 at the same address.

The gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and remains closed on Sundays.
