Boccaccio Boccaccino (about 1466 to about 1525) was an Italian Renaissance painter active chiefly in Cremona, where he became the leading master of the local school. Drawing on the Ferrarese and Venetian traditions, he developed a style marked by soft modeling and warm color. His principal commission was a cycle of frescoes on the lives of the Virgin and Christ in Cremona Cathedral, carried out in the early sixteenth century.
He also worked in Venice and Ferrara, and his painting bridges fifteenth-century manner and the early High Renaissance.
