Sahib Ram

Sahib Ram was an Indian painter who led the royal atelier at the court of Jaipur in Rajasthan during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He served as chief painter under Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, a ruler devoted to Krishna worship, and his art blends Mughal refinement with Rajput court conventions. He is known for large-scale portraits and devotional images, including depictions of Krishna and of his patron, and for preparatory drawings intended for murals and panel paintings in the Jaipur palace.

His work is marked by elegant draftsmanship and is represented in collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
