Kripal of Nurpur was an Indian painter active in the Pahari hill kingdom of Nurpur in the mid-seventeenth century. He is among the earliest named masters of the Pahari painting tradition and is closely associated with the bold, intense early style of the region. He is best known for an illustrated series of the Rasamanjari, a Sanskrit poem classifying types of lovers, marked by strong flat colors, vigorous drawing, and stylized figures set against plain grounds. His work helped establish the foundations of later Pahari painting in the Punjab Hills.
