This photo shows a group of stone statues carved into a rocky base. The figures are rough and worn, with one muscular man sitting and another reclining. A woman in draped clothing leans over the reclining figure, who looks like they’re resting or maybe injured. The edges are uneven, and the whole scene feels like it’s part of a larger, broken story. These statues were originally part of the Parthenon in Athens. They were moved to a museum long ago, and this photo captures them as they look today—damaged but still powerful. Next, check out The Cleveland Museum of Art to see where these sculptures are kept.
