This etching shows three small boats struggling against rough waves. The sky is dark and stormy, with heavy rain and wind pushing the water into sharp, jagged lines. The fishermen are bent over, rowing hard, while the boats tilt dangerously. The artist used quick, sketchy lines to show movement and tension in the scene. The waves look almost alive, crashing toward the boats with raw energy. Check out the technique: chiaroscuro to see how light and shadow create drama.
