Hill Top by night is a 1910 watercolor by Beatrix Potter, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Beatrix Potter painted *Hill Top by night* with watercolour between 1908 and 1912. It shows Hill Top, her Lake District home, lit from within as snow falls outside. She loved drawing her own house at all hours. Warm yellow light spills onto the snowy path in this quiet winter scene. Check out more Beatrix Potter at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
A night scene depicts the side of Hill Top farmhouse, its steep, snow-covered path ascending from the left. Warm yellow light from the house spills onto the snow, contrasting with the dark blue sky and deep green foliage surrounding the building. The work was created between 1905 and 1943 and later acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the Linder Bequest.
