Views of an ant (highly magnified) is a 1886 watercolor by Beatrix Potter, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
In March 1886, Beatrix Potter created highly magnified studies of an ant using yellow wash and pen and ink, depicting the insect from both dorsal and ventral perspectives. The drawings reflect her early engagement with natural history, combining detailed observation with annotated notes on the species. Acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1973 as part of the Linder Bequest, these works remain part of a larger collection of Potter’s watercolors, drawings, and manuscripts.
