Reception of the Envoy of Poland [recto] is a 1612 ink by Jacques Callot, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This painting shows a scene with many people. In the center, a woman sits on a throne-like chair, wearing a long dress and a crown. A man stands before her, holding a paper and looking up. To her right, another man stands with his back to us, wearing a fancy outfit. Behind them, a group of people watches. The room has a large window with curtains and a high ceiling. The woman on the throne seems important, and the man in front of her might be giving her a message. The people watching look interested. The room is fancy, with big windows and a high ceiling. This painting reminds me of another artist who liked to draw fancy scenes: Callot, Jacques.
Jacques Callot was a baroque printmaker and draftsman from the Duchy of Lorraine.
