Print from Drawing Book is a 1615 ink by Luca Ciamberlano, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This black-and-white print shows a single arm and hand reaching upward, fingers spread wide. The skin looks rough, with deep shadows and texture marks. Above the hand, another arm bends at the elbow, holding a small tool—maybe a knife or stylus—near the shoulder. The artist used lots of tiny parallel lines to create shadows, making the muscles and skin pop. This was a common way to add depth in old prints.
