Gustavus Adolphus is a 1806 ink by Robert Cooper, a Romanticism work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This is a black-and-white portrait of a man with a serious expression. He’s wearing a dark collar and has curly hair and a mustache. The image is small, framed inside a circle, and looks like it was printed on old paper. The handwritten note below says this was a gift from the man in the portrait to someone named St. George. The original was given when St. George received an honor. Check out how this was made using engraving.
