This sketch shows a group of five nude figures tangled together in loose, swirling lines. Some stand, some crouch, and one leans back with arms raised. The drawing is all in black, with thick, uneven strokes that make the bodies look both solid and ghostly. The artist used a technique called lithotint to add depth to the black lines, blending shadows smoothly in places. The figures seem to overlap without quite touching, like they’re caught in mid-motion. Next, check out lithography to see how this printing method works.
