About this work

This watercolor shows a quiet village scene with stone houses and wooden balconies. People walk along a dirt path, some leading horses. A lone tree stands near a small church or chapel. The buildings look old, with uneven walls and tiled roofs. The artist used soft browns and grays, giving the whole scene a faded, dreamy look. The light feels warm but gentle, like late afternoon.
