This print shows William Shakespeare’s face in profile. His ruffled collar and beard stand out. The artist used sharp lines to make the face look real. The original engraving was made in 1623. This copy dates from the 19th century but keeps the same details. A tiny “M. Droeshout 1623” mark hides near the bottom. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see this print and more.
