Title Page. James I, an Opera is a 1619 ink by Renold Elstrack, a Baroque work, held at National Gallery of Art.
This print shows two tall figures standing in fancy frames. The one on the left holds a book and looks serious. The one on the right wears armor and holds a spear. Above them, angels float near a crown with the word "SUPERST" on it. The middle part has a long Latin text with the name "JACOBI" in big letters. This was made as a title page for an opera about King James I. Look up engraving to see how artists like this carved detailed lines into metal.
