Overview

A pencil drawing by George Chinnery depicts the lower section of the wall beneath the S. Francisco church in Macau, featuring a baroque pediment topped with urns and overlooking a set of stairs. The church and convent, shown in this work, were demolished in 1861 to make way for the São Francisco barracks. This sketch is part of a volume containing 93 sheets of drawings made by Chinnery in Macau and its surrounding areas.
