This watercolour by Andy Goldsworthy shows nature both as subject and tool. A snowball packed with red stone dust was placed on paper, then tilted so the melting snow spread pigment like paint. The paper buckled as it dried, guiding the stain’s path. Goldsworthy made this by letting physics do the work—stone, snow, and gravity made the marks. It’s part of his series where everyday stuff becomes art supply. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum.
