Leda and the Swan is a 1548 by Sebald Beham, a Renaissance work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This print shows a woman lying down beside a swan with a human face. The swan’s wings are spread wide, and its feathers are detailed. Behind them, a tree and a distant building sit in the background. The woman’s relaxed pose and the swan’s calm demeanor make the scene feel quiet. The artist used shading to create depth in the feathers and skin.
