Dance card, including view of Mt. Elias is a 1891 watercolor by H. E. Howard, a Hudson River School Movement work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This page mixes tiny sketches and quick watercolor scenes. On the left, there’s a dance card with red figures in a box, a boat with people rowing, and a line of people walking toward a mountain. The right side has a blue-washed water scene with a boat full of figures, and some handwritten notes about a dance. The artist scribbled "Dance" and "Mt. Elias" in the margin, hinting at a mix of social life and nature. The sketches feel loose and fast, like notes from a trip. Check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see more of this artist’s work.
