H Beard Print Collection is a 1824 by S. Knight, a Romanticism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This print shows five lively characters from a popular 1820s London burlesque called *Fry’d Shots*. It’s based on the German opera *Der Freischütz*, but here it’s turned into a funny, over-the-top show. The characters have bold names like Bullet Caster and Witty Witty Woo-oo. The print was made by S. Knight and fits right into the Romanticism movement. Look up the Victoria and Albert Museum to see this print in person.
The print titled *The Principal Characters in Fry'd Shots* by S. Knight, published in 1824, depicts four figures from the burlesque adaptation of Carl Maria von Weber’s opera *Der Freischütz*. The characters shown are Bullet Caster (Master of Ceremonies), Tragic Hero (Witty Witty Woo-oo), Singing Heroine, Singing Hero, and Zamiel. The play was a popular London theatrical production in the 1820s.
