Dedication Page is a 1900 ink by Auguste Lepère, held at National Gallery of Art.
This drawing shows a busy harbor packed with ships, their sails and rigging tangled in detailed lines. In the foreground, a flag flutters and flowers bloom in bold orange and white. Below, a handwritten note in French reads *"Mon Cher Lepère..."*—it’s like a personal message tucked into the scene. The mix of ships and flowers feels oddly peaceful, almost like a dream. The artist used tiny lines and shading to build up the shapes, making everything look textured and alive. Want to see more like this?
