New ABC Booklet: L is a 1627 by Lucas Kilian, a Baroque work, held at Cleveland Museum of Art.
This drawing shows a fancy letter "L" filled with swirling patterns and tiny figures. One cherub floats above, holding a scroll, while another small face peeks out below. The edges are packed with curls, flowers, and crosses, all in black ink on a light background. The scroll and crowns hint this might be part of a decorative alphabet book from the early 1600s.
