This image shows two open pages filled with tiny animal scenes. Each page has rows of small woodcut prints: deer, birds, and fish in simple, repeated patterns. The gold ink stands out against the yellow paper, making the animals look like they’re glowing. The edges of the pages are slightly frayed, and the whole thing looks old. The artist used a technique called woodcut, where designs are carved into wood and then inked. This method was common before printing presses became widespread. Next, check out woodcut to see how this printing process works.
