Untitled is a 2002 watercolor by Marcel Dzama, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This drawing shows four stick-figure people made of trees. The first one sits with a branch for a head, holding a long stick like a club. The next three stand in a row, walking on two legs but with bare tree trunks for bodies. Their faces are blank, and the last one has a bird perched on its branch-arm. The artist used root beer concentrate in the paint—it’s not just watercolor. The light colors and simple shapes make the scene feel strange but calm.
